Korps Mariniers Wolf 110 Soft Top — front three-quarter render

History

When the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps needed a light utility vehicle to work alongside Britain's 3 Commando Brigade in the UK/Netherlands Amphibious Force, it bought Defender 110s to the British Army's Wolf (TUM HS) specification rather than the standard Dutch Army Land Rover, so that the two marine forces could share spares and drills. The fleet, delivered around the turn of the century, ran in the Dutch KM (Koninklijke Marine) registration series with yellow plates and served on exercises from Norway's arctic coast to the Caribbean.

Joint Forces' Military Land Rovers series photographed a column of the Dutch marines' Wolves in the UK, and KM-25-25 is modelled from that feature: olive Wolf 110 soft top with the canvas tilt raised, a spare wheel on the bonnet, snorkel up the right A-pillar, whip aerials, a rolled camouflage net strapped across the front of the tilt and the marines' small unit markings on the doors. The net drops as cargo in the game.
