Personnel Carryall
The station-wagon Perentie: 'Truck, Carryall, Lightweight, Personnel, MC2', a nine-seat 110 wagon with a safari roof, no alpine windows and a single side-hinged rear door. Only 38 were built, making it one of the rarest of the 3,023 Perentie 4x4s.

History
The Australian Army's Project Perentie fleet was overwhelmingly a fleet of soft-top utilities: general service trucks, Fitted For Radio trucks and surveillance vehicles built by JRA Limited (Jaguar Rover Australia) at Moorebank, New South Wales from August 1987 on a strengthened, hot-dip galvanised 110 chassis with the Isuzu 4BD1 3.9-litre diesel. Two variants broke that pattern by using a hardtop station wagon body: the eleven 'Senior Commander' carryalls, which were Fitted For Radio and winch-equipped for unit commanders, and the plainer Personnel Carryall recorded here, of which the published variant table lists just 38.
Nominally 'Truck, Carryall, Lightweight, Personnel, MC2', liability code 73600, its role was simply to move nine people including the driver, with a 900 kg trailer permitted behind. REMLR's variant sheet describes the body as a station-wagon type with a single side-hinged rear door and a 'safari' roof, and - the detail that separates it at a glance from its civilian County cousins - no alpine windows in the roof sides. Inside, the rear is fitted out with plain bench seating; unlike the Senior Commander there is no battery stowage and no radio table, and no winch was fitted. Unladen mass was 2,350 kg on the same 3,200 kg GVM, 2,794 mm wheelbase and 500 mm fording depth as the rest of the 4x4 family, and it drew the standard Complete Equipment Schedule 12036 with repair parts scale 02195.
Small numbers and an unglamorous role mean the Carryall is thinly documented, but REMLR photographed 48-007 - an initial-production example - at an Australian Frontline Machinery disposal auction in 2013, the same route by which most of the fleet reached civilian owners as the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon took over under Project Land 121. The Moorebank plant had closed on 30 September 1992. Because the Perentie was JRA's own Australian engineering programme rather than a Solihull product line, this registry files it outside the Defender family.
