Perentie 6×6 Dual Cab
The four-door crew cab Perentie 6x6 - 'Truck, Crew Cab, Light, Winch, MC2' - built to carry five soldiers under cover with a canvas-tilted cargo tray behind them. Just 26 were built, the smallest of the mainstream 6x6 variants.

History
The Perentie 6x6 was JRA Limited's own creation rather than anything Solihull offered: the Australian Army's Land Rover 110 chassis extended, hot-dip galvanised and given a third, load-sharing leaf-sprung axle, a cab widened at the Army's request, permanent four-wheel drive with selectable six-wheel drive for difficult going, and the turbocharged Isuzu 4BD1-T diesel of 90 kW. Six-wheelers were built at Moorebank, New South Wales and delivered from March 1989; 699 were made in all before the plant closed on 30 September 1992. Almost every 6x6 variant kept the standard two-door cab, and the crew cab is the exception: the published variant table lists 26 examples of 'Truck, Crew Cab, Light, Winch, MC2', making it the rarest of the ordinary 6x6 body types.
REMLR's identification guide gives a slightly fuller designation - 'Truck, Cargo, Light, Crew Cab, FFR, Winch, MC2' - and describes the role plainly: a Land Rover 6x6 crew cab for the transport of up to five personnel with cargo, fitted with a winch. In place of the usual single row of seats the vehicle gains a second pair of doors and a full-width rear bench inside a lengthened hardtop cab, with the shortened cargo tray behind carried under the familiar hoop-and-canvas tilt. The Fitted For Radio element in the REMLR nomenclature implies the auxiliary radio electrical fit that the FFR 4x4s and several 6x6 variants carried, and the vehicle keeps the 6x6 family's Thomas winch, front bull bar, two 62-litre fuel tanks and helicopter sling, shipping tie-down and recovery points.
With so few built the crew cab is thinly documented and no dedicated REMLR variant page exists for it, though the type does appear indirectly in the record: REMLR notes that Parakeet communications modules were sometimes seen fitted to dual-cab 6x6s. Like the rest of the fleet the crew cabs were withdrawn as the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon replaced the Land Rover under Project Land 121 from around 2012, and surviving examples reached civilian hands through Australian Frontline Machinery disposal auctions, where the four-door body makes them among the most sought-after Perenties.
