Vaduz Marte Pikettfahrzeug — front three-quarter render

History

BOS-Fahrzeuge identifies this preserved PiF 2 as a 1970 Land Rover Series IIB Forward Control FC 110 with bodywork by Marte of Austria, registration FL 1004. Marte removed the original body and combined the cab, crew area and equipment compartments in a new integrated body. Roof access ladders are built into both sides, behind the crew compartment, and a full-length rack covers the roof.

It entered service in 1970 as the first motorised appliance of a municipal fire brigade in Liechtenstein. This does not mean the first motorised fire engine of any kind in the country: Hilti’s industrial brigade in Schaan already operated a tanker. The Vaduz brigade preserves the vehicle following retirement; the retirement year is not recorded.
