Classic Defender Works V8 DAKTARI Edition — front three-quarter render

History

Announced by Land Rover Classic with Land Rover Germany, the Works V8 DAKTARI Edition is a run of ten Defender 90 and 110 station wagons rebuilt to Works V8 specification — the 5.0-litre 405 bhp V8, ZF eight-speed automatic, uprated brakes and suspension — and finished as a tribute to the Series II Land Rovers of the Wameru animal reserve in the 1966–69 television series Daktari, hugely popular in Germany. The cars wear Dark Grey with an Alpine White roof, body-colour heavy-duty steel wheels and arches, the Classic Series-style front end with a mesh grille and a galvanised bumper lettered CLASSIC, Union flag wing badges, and a DAKTARI badge on the tailgate; inside is Caraway leather.

The registry's model is the 110 station wagon form of the edition with the mesh grille front, galvanised bumper, Union flag wing badges, Alpine White roof with alpine lights, DAKTARI tailgate badge, steps and mud flaps.
